Wednesday, Oct. 12 against UW-Fox Valley

We won 25-20, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16

This win gave the team a 5 - 0 Eastern Divisional Championship. Since 2003 when the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference was separated into Eastern and Western Divsions, UW-Washington County has won the championship the six out of nine years (2003,2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011). This was a very exciting win for the team. Everyone played well and contributed to the team win. In the third set we struggled with keeping our hits in. When the fourth set started we knew exactly what needed to be done to win the match. We have done much better at keeping our serving in with missing only 3 serves for the entire match.

Highlights:

  • Brianna Halfmann had 14 kills, and 3 digs
  • Abby Hovorka had 13 kills2 digs, 1 block
  • Elise Peters had 12 kills, 18 digs
  • Kristina Windisch had 9 kills,

Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 against UW-Manitowoc

The team was able to play to another conference win against UW-Manitowoc. The scores were 25 - 21, 20 - 25, 25 - 20, 32-30. The last set was really intense. We were down by one or two points the entire set. The team brought it back to a 21 - 21 tie and from there it went back and forth. Abby Hovorka and Cameron Ottoson had some key plays in the middle as well as Elise Peters really connecting on the outside. Our serving was once against very consistent we only missed four serves for the entire match. It was our lack of hitting consistency that got us in trouble. The team just out wore UW-Manitowc, never giving up on the ball and had the mind set of "Play to Win".

Highlights:

  • Abby Hovorka had 15 kills, 4 blocks
  • Elise Peters 15 kills, 19 digs, 2 ace serves
  • Camerson Ottoson had 11 kills, 5 blocks
  • Stacy Chesak had 53 kill assists, 7 digs and 4 kills
  • Cari Krell had 40 digs and 2 ace serves

Conference record 4-0 Overall is 10-3

Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 against UW-Marinette

We played UW-Marinette in a conference match on Saturday. We won 25 - 9, 25 - 17, 25 - 16. The team played extremely well.
