At UW-Washington County, about 25% of our
students are returning adults (age 22 or older). That means
you’ll benefit from services designed with the adult student in
mind and have other students to relate to.
It also means you’ll fit right
in. Adults begin their college education or return to college
for many different reasons.
Some of these reasons include:
- To improve employment opportunities
- To earn a degree
- To learn new skills
- To pursue areas of special interest
- To challenge their minds

and successes. Non-Trads also sponsors a scholarship each year for students
who are of non-traditional age. Prospective students of
non-traditional age who would like to meet with current students are
welcome to attend their noon meetings. You'll learn about financial
commitments, how to balance school, work and family responsibilities
