Farmington
Alumni Scholarship established at UW-WC
Norb & Louella Dettmann make donation
A
Farmington Alumni Scholarship was recently established at
UW-Washington County by Norb and Louella Dettmann. The $1,000
scholarship will be awarded each year to a returning UW-Washington
County student that attended Farmington Elementary School. The
Dettmanns who live in Boltonville (which is located in the town of
Farmington) are strong advocates of UW-Washington County. Norb is a
long-term member of the University Council and a former member of
the Washington County Board of Supervisors. Dettmann was also active
in town government, serving as Farmington town chairman for several
years.
The scholarship selection will be based “primarily on volunteer and
community activities” with “financial need and academic achievement”
also considered. This is the second Farmington Alumni scholarship
that the Dettmann’s have established. The first was set up at
Kewaskum High School several years ago, with the funds going to a
student who attends either UW-WC or Moraine Park Technical College.
Applications for UW-WC scholarships for the 2007/2008 school year
(including the Farmington Alumni Scholarship) are available on the
website (www.washington.uwc.edu)
or can be picked up in the Student Services office of the campus,
located at 400 S. University Drive in West Bend. Over $130,000 in
scholarships are available each year for students planning to attend
UW-Washington County. The deadline for applications is March 9 for
current students and March 23 for new freshmen.
