ON-LINE COURSES For Business and Home

Hundreds of titles online at www.ed2go.com/uwwc Take classes on your home or office pc. Enjoy professional development or personal enrichment at your own pace and convenience with instructor-led online courses. You need a computer with Internet access, e-mail, and a Web browser.  

  • All courses are six weeks and include 12 lessons.

  • All materials available over the World Wide Web.

  • Classes supplemented by interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and on-line discussion

  • Registration to be made 10 days prior to class start. 

  • An on-line orientation is required for each class.

  • Classes begin the third Wednesday of each month.

Online Business Communication Certificate Program
What do most employers look for in an employee? It’s the ability to communicate effectively with others.

Instructor-led online courses begin on the second Monday of their respective months and run for six weeks, offering a minimum of six lessons per course. Interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and online discussion areas supplement the lessons. All materials are available to you over the World Wide Web. Read your lessons and ask questions of your instructor at times that are most convenient to you!

All you need to get started is Internet access, an e-mail address, and Netscape or Internet Explorer Web browser. Note: Campus computer labs are not available for these courses.

Enroll in one, two, or three six-week courses of your choice … OR complete all five core courses and at least one elective to earn the Business Communication Certificate. Requirements can be completed within one year. You can begin the certificate at any time.

Fees:          $89 per course
                   $475 for certificate program ($59 discount)

Medical Office Specialist - Non-credit Online Certificate Program

Looking for a second career/ Get training to help you be successful in a medical office environment. UW-Colleges has an online certificate where you can learn how to manage the flow of information in a  health care setting. The Medical Office Specialist Certificate includes 3 required courses and 1 elective and you can begin the certificate at anytime. These courses are instructor-led and available 24/7 and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links and more.

Required Courses:
Medical Information Management and Office Practice- a 45 hour course that has open enrollment and includes all required textbooks.
Medical Terminology: A Word Association Approach - 6 weeks, 12 lessons with courses beginning every month
Medical Coding - 6 weeks, 12 lessons with courses beginning every month

Elective Courses:
Human Anatomy and Physiology
Introduction to Natural Health and Healing
Computer Skills for the Workplace
Speed Spanish
Keys to Effective Communication

All elective courses begin every month and can be completed in 6 weeks. The elective courses take into consideration the various work experiences that students will have and offer a variety of subjects that could be valuable to make you a desirable candidate for working in a medical office.

Requirements: Internet access, E-mail, Netscape or Internet Explorer Web Browser.

How to get started:
1) To see all the courses we offer, visit our Online Instruction Center      
    www.ed2go.com/uwwc
2) Click the Courses link, choose the department and the course title you
    are interested in and select the Enroll Now button. Follow the instructions
    to enroll and pay for your course. here you will enter your e-mail and
    choose a password that will grant you access to the Classroom.
3) When your course starts, return to our Online Instruction Center and click
    the Classroom link. To begin your studies, simply log in with your e-mail
    and the password you selected during enrollment.

Fees: Medical Information Management and Office Practice is $189, all other courses are $89 and can be taken in any order.
