UW-Washington County's social science curriculum provides
you with core skills and knowledge necessary to complete a bachelor's
degree program,succeed in a variety of social service or criminal
justice professions, and to compete successfully in a global environment.
This curriculum includes core courses leading to a fundamental understanding
of the general sociological factors which influence human behavior,
and applying sociological principles to helping people and solving
everyday problems.

Field Experiences and Internships
Social Science course work at UW-Washington County
may be able to provide you with field experiences for academic credit.
Field experience, under future development in SOC 101, "Introduction
to Sociology," SOC 134, "American Minority Groups,"
SOC 120 "Marriage and Family," and SOC 131 "Crime
and Criminal Justice" will be designed to provide you with
opportunities for observations and participation not ordinarily
available in the classroom. Your field work will be supervised by
faculty members and professionals who evaluate the importance and
significance of your experience. For more information about field

University.
Scholarship Opportunities
Faculty, administration and staff at UW-Washington
County believe that outstanding students deserve recognition and
should be given support and the opportunity to develop their interests,
skills and talents. To this end, UWWC, through generous benefactor
donations, is able to annually award over $125,000 in scholarships
to qualified new, continuing and transferring students on the basis
of academic excellence, leadership, community service, and financial
