Philosophy Major
Are you interested in a Philosophy Major?
Philosophy is the "pursuit of wisdom" according to Webster's dictionary. It involves the study of the most essential questions that arise in our reflection of ourselves and our place in the natural world. Although the number of professional or academic philosophers is small, students who major or minor in philosophy, usually do so for its intrinsic interest.
Philosophical theories provide the basis for political and religious concepts and ethics. Students are trained to listen attentively, analyze critically, evaluate for logic, and communicate clearly. These diverse attributes provide a strong foundation for careers in law, medicine, journalism, business, teaching, and public service.
