UW-Washington County has partnered with UW-Oshkosh to bring a fully accredited bachelor’s degree program right to you. Roll your associate degree credits into a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Courses are available at our West Bend campus and online.

The Criminal Justice degree prepares students for careers in government, law enforcement, social work, forensics, corrections or other government agencies. An Associate of Arts and Science degree is a prerequisite. Core courses in the Criminal Justice program focus on:

  • Policy Formulation and Analysis
  • Writing
  • Critical Thinking
  • Data Analysis
  • Crime Response Theory

Many law enforcement agencies around the country require a bachelor’s degree for advancement to command positions within their departments. Give yourself the edge you need to advance within your department by earning your Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. You can also earn your bachelor’s degree as part of your path to obtaining a master’s degree, law degree or PhD that many departments are also requiring for police chief positions or other leadership roles.

Whatever your situation, advisors will work with you on a personalized plan to get you off to the right start. Typically, students will have completed their general education credits (freshman and sophomore courses) before entering this program. However, if you have earned some college credits from UW-Washington County or another college, you may qualify to enter this program.
