Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
UW-Washington
County's Nursing program is a collaborative program with
UW-Milwaukee. Each fall, UW-WC admits (on a competitive
basis), a minimum of 16 students to the clinical major. These students complete the
first four semesters of pre-nursing requirements at UW-WC. After the
fourth semester, nursing students are admitted to the clinical
nursing major and begin courses at UW-Milwaukee.
Special scholarship assistance is available for nursing students during their junior
and senior years. The senior year brings students back to West Bend to complete their advanced clinical
work in health facilities in West Bend and other Washington County
communities. At the conclusion of this fourth year, successful participants
will receive a B.S. degree with a major in Nursing from UW-Milwaukee and
will be eligible to sit for the Registered Nurse licensure examination.
Recommended classes for nursing students include: English
Composition (Eng-102), College Algebra or Quantitative Reasoning
(Math-110 or Math-108), General Survey of Microbiology (Bac-101),
Introduction to Chemistry (Che-125), Biochemistry (Che-203 &
